How To Prepare Your File: Specifications For Booklets.
Save Your File Correctly
Export your artwork as PDF/X-3 for the best color accuracy and reliable printing results. Alternatively you can send us JPEG or TIFF files. Adobe Photoshop users should always save their files as JPEG or TIFF. If a Photoshop PDF is required, please use Acrobat Distiller to create the PDF (you may download our Acrobat JobOptions further down this page in the templates section). Please never save a PDF directly from Photoshop.
Portrait or Landscape
Ensure your file matches the selected size and orientation (portrait or landscape). If your file differs from the ordered size, it may be resized automatically unless you add the Trim to Custom Size service.
Page Count
The total number of pages must be a multiple of 4 (e.g., 28, 32, 36 pages, including covers). If necessary, blank pages can be added during upload to reach the required total.

Prepare your document as single pages only, in reading order:
- Page 1 = Front Cover

Bleed, Trim & Safety Areas
Please ensure your file has the following dimensions:
- Trim size 5.5” x 8.5”: The product currently selected in the configurator above on this page will be delivered in these dimensions.
- Bleed size 5.70” x 8.70”: Include + 1/10" on all four sides. This is the bleed that will be trimmed. Extend background images and graphics beyond this area.
Safe Zone: Keep all text and key elements at least 1/12" from the trim edge to prevent being trimmed.
RGB vs CMYK
Use CMYK only. Files in RGB or with spot colors will be automatically converted, which may cause colors to appear different from the original file.
The total ink coverage (C+M+Y+K) must not exceed 300% to ensure proper drying and prevent pages from sticking.
- For black or gray text, use only the K channel.
- For a rich black, use 40C / 0M / 0Y / 100K or 30/30/30/100.
Image Resolution - Avoid Blurry Images
Images resolution need to be minimum 150 dpi (recommended 300 dpi) to ensure sharp, high-quality results. Avoid low-resolution or pixelated images.
Fonts
Use PostScript fonts for offset printing. If TrueType fonts are used, convert them to outlines (also known as paths or curves) to avoid rendering issues.

What binding options do you offer for booklets?
We offer two professional binding options for booklets. Saddle stitching, which involves stapling, is ideal for booklets of up to 100 pages. Perfect binding, which involves gluing the spine, is ideal for thicker booklets of 36 pages or more, depending on the paper weight. Both options deliver a sleek, durable, professional finish, making them perfect for catalogs or magazines.
Can I place different designs or items in the same order?
Yes, you can definitely include several designs in the same order. First, configure your booklet. Then, add it to your cart. Next, duplicate it and adjust the specifications, such as the file, quantity, paper, or size. If you're shipping to the same address, your items will be consolidated automatically to reduce delivery costs.
Can I get a printed sample before placing a large order?
To help you decide which paper is best for your needs, you can request a free sample pack that showcases our available paper stocks and finishes. This way, you can review the quality and feel of the paper before ordering. Please use our Samples page and enter your postal address to send us your request.
Some of our booklet products are available without a minimum order quantity enabling you to order a single sample directly from the configurator. However, please keep in mind that short-run quantities may be printed digitally, unlike the offset printing of your main run later on. Small differences in color, paper, and production finish are common between these two types of printing.
How long will it take to receive my printed booklets?
Production times vary depending on the quantity and selected options.. You can check exact turnaround dates using our live calendar in the pricing calculator. Orders usually ship within 1-2 weeks, and all shipments are handled by reliable carriers to ensure timely and secure delivery. Rush production and expedited shipping are available for most of our booklets.
Can I track my order once it ships?
Yes! Once your order leaves our facility, you’ll receive a tracking number via email. You can monitor your shipment in real time and estimate delivery based on the carrier. We work with trusted shipping partners to guarantee safe and on-time arrival of all printed booklets.
Will the price per booklet decrease if I order more?
It will! Since our offset printing process has a fixed setup cost, the price per unit decreases as the quantity increases. This means larger runs are more cost-efficient, ideal for bulk catalog printing, event programs, or marketing booklets requiring professional quality at the best possible value.
Do I need a separate spine file for perfect bound booklets?
Yes, perfect bound booklets require a separate print file for the spine in addition to the cover and interior pages. The spine's width is critical and depends on your exact page count and the thickness of your selected paper. You can see the required spine width on our Visual Upload Tool when you upload your custom design.
