Industries Ordering CD Covers Most.

CD covers still do real work across many industries, from independent music, audiobooks to software, and education. This is where a well-made CD cover protects the disc, carries the story, and keeps a physical release feeling premium.

Music and records industry icon

Musicians & Bands

Local artists and indie bands rely on a custom CD cover to share lyrics, artwork, and thank-yous with fans. A full album cover can turn a self-released record into merch worth buying at the show and keeping on the shelf.

Music label icon

Record Labels & Distributors

Labels print music album covers in bulk for every title they release, from limited pressings to nationwide retail runs. Consistent CD cover printing keeps catalog artwork sharp and on-brand across hundreds of titles while driving the cost per unit down.

Audiobook icon

Audiobook & Spoken-Word Publishers

Publishers use CD covers to list chapters, narrators, and series details inside every audiobook set. Multi-page products give listeners a clear guide to long recordings and make box sets feel like a finished product.

IT team icon

Software & Corporate Teams

Companies still ship corporate discs for software, training, and onboarding, and a printed CD cover explains licensing, install steps, and contact info. A clean CD pamphlet inside the case keeps documentation in one place and reinforces the brand.

Film and entertainment industry icon (camera)

Film, Photo & Video Studios

Wedding videographers, photographers, and filmmakers hand clients finished work on disc, and a custom CD case cover adds a portfolio-quality touch. Branded covers and inside pages turn a simple delivery into a keepsake.

School, education, and non-profit industry icon (showing care for people)

Churches, Schools & Nonprofits

Worship teams, choirs, schools, and nonprofits press sermons, recitals, and fundraising recordings to CD. An affordable CD album cover adds song titles, scripture, or donor thank-yous and helps a community release look polished on any budget.

Helpful FAQs About CD Printing Products.

What are the standard dimensions for custom CD covers?

Our custom CD covers are printed to fit standard jewel cases exactly, with finished panels measuring 4.75" x 4.75". Folded inserts are also available in several flat formats, ranging from 9.5" x 4.75" up to 33.25" x 4.75" for multi-panel layouts.

What paper stocks and cardstock weights do you offer for CD covers?

We offer coated text stocks from 70 lb to 120 lb in gloss or matte, plus card stocks ranging from 12 pt to 18 pt. Stapled booklets also include a 120 lb uncoated offset option, giving you flexibility for both lightweight inserts and sturdier covers.

Can I print on both the front and back of the CD cover?

All of our CD covers and inserts are printed in full color on both the front and back as standard, at no extra charge. This lets you use the reverse side for tracklists, credits, artwork, or any additional branding your project requires.

What coating and finish options are available?

Folded covers are available with aqueous coating or film lamination in either matte or gloss, applied to both sides. Please note that film lamination is only available with card stock covers. These finishes help protect your print while enhancing its look and feel.

For stapled booklets, the cover finish is determined by the selected paper stock and cannot be chosen separately.

Do you provide design templates with bleed and safe zone guidelines?

Yes, we provide free downloadable templates with the correct bleed and safe-zone settings for every CD product. A 0.1" bleed is required on all four edges, including bound inside edges, and our guidelines clearly mark margins to keep text and key elements safely positioned.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for B2B orders?

Folded CD covers and inserts have a minimum order quantity of 100 units and can be ordered in quantities up to 50,000. CD booklets (stapled) have a minimum order quantity of 50 units. The product configurator will display the available quantity options for your selected product and specifications.

Do you offer wholesale pricing or bulk discounts for record labels and marketing agencies?

Our pricing is tiered, so the per-unit cost drops significantly as volume increases, up to 50,000 units. For labels, agencies, and recurring B2B orders, you can request a custom PDF quote, and our team is happy to discuss pricing tailored to larger or repeat runs.

What file formats and color modes do you accept for production?

We recommend print-ready PDF files set in CMYK color mode for accurate, consistent results. RGB files can shift unexpectedly on press, so converting to CMYK beforehand is important. Our automated preflight system checks each upload and flags color-space issues before your order proceeds.

Can I get a digital or physical proof before my full order goes into production?

A digital PDF proof is available as an optional paid service before production begins. In addition, our prepress team manually checks every B2B artwork file for bleed, color space, and alignment before printing. If you’d like to evaluate our paper stocks before ordering, you can also request a free sample kit.

Are your printed covers compatible with standard jewel cases?

Every CD cover, insert, and booklet is printed to the exact specifications of a standard jewel case, with 4.75" square finished panels. This ensures your printed pieces slot in cleanly without trimming or adjustment, ready for professional packaging and distribution.

What are your turnaround times and rush shipping options?

Turnaround depends on your production speed and shipping choice. We offer Eco, Standard, and Rush production tiers, alongside shipping options including Standard (4–5 business days), 3-Day Select, and 2nd Day Air. The configurator displays an estimated delivery date before you check out.

Do you offer "blind shipping" (white-label delivery) for print brokers?

Registered customers can select blind or neutral shipping during checkout. When this option is chosen, your order is shipped without ChilliPrinting branding, and the shipping label displays your billing address as the sender instead of ours. Please note that blind shipping is not available for guest users.
